Those of us who want to lean into our spiritual gifts may feel a lack of support from the world, and feel as though we’re on the outs. There is a large portion of this world that is not ready to accept that we are made for so much more, and sometimes that may hold us back from the purpose we are here to embody. For this reason (and so many more), we need to go deep within ourselves and the tender parts of our inner child that have felt wounded or abandoned in order to move forward with what we are called to do. It is big work, my loves, but it is certainly necessary.
Deanna is here seeking clarity. She’s wondering what is happening with her business, and how she can attract her ideal clients. While this is the question she came in asking, we ended up spending a significant amount of time diving into her inner child. Through this discovery work, it becomes apparent that what she has thought she’s meant to focus on is not the thing her spirit guides are moving her towards. As is so often the case. Today, Deanna and I have an enlightening conversation about how to care for our inner child in order to open up parts of ourselves that have been shut for so long.

In this life, some of us are forced to endure very hard things. These things can have lasting effects on the body and the nervous system, which often enters a state of survival mode in order to keep us safe. Even long after the danger is gone, there are ways in which the body holds onto that state of survival, and this can hinder our ability to enjoy our lives if we don’t make a decision to address that trauma. I want to stress to you, loves, that taking care of our spiritual selves means taking care of our physical bodies, and our relationship to our bodies holds the key to reconnecting with our souls.
Nancy is here wanting to know what is ahead for her in her future. She had a very physically abusive upbringing. She was beaten badly by her mother. There are so many things that demand our time. Our obligations to those around us, to our jobs, to our families, and to the things we want to pursue in life. It can be so easy to believe that we aren’t entitled to rest, pleasure, and deep connection in this world until we’ve paid our dues with years of fruitless hard work, and that we must do so alone in order to be deserving. But that could not be farther from the truth, my love. In fact,it is in your openness to receiving and your openness to support that you can make space for all of the joy you hope to find.

When we are spiritually guided towards a specific mission in life, it can be easy to funnel all of ourselves into that pursuit. I love how much passion and innovation exists among you all, my loves, and how you are turning your gifts into businesses in order to spread your gifts wider. Yet it can create problems when we channel our own life force into our projects, without making space for differentiating ourselves from what we do. I believe they should be two separate things, and that we must nurture ourselves in the physical space in order to grow the business as its own entity.

The trauma experienced by our ancestors has a way of making its way down to us and in order to change, we need to pay attention to how it is playing out in our lives. These patterns can be especially harmful in the context of parenting, where we can unknowingly continue the harm done in our familial line onto our children. The good news is that with some courage and examination of ourselves, we all have agency to stop this pattern in its tracks. The power of decision is within you, you just have to choose to act on it.
Chandni is here with a desire to heal her relationship with her 9-year-old son. She is concerned that she gets very dysregulated in her parenting, really feeling the ancestral wounding that she carries around, yet we also see the deep wisdom she holds within that becomes apparent as we talk. So many of us grow up in situations where we don’t feel safe or protected. In these scenarios, it is very common to get stuck in “karmic loops,” which are, in essence, the curses that are played out through our family lines. This can create many problems in our adult lives, because we’re running these programs that were put in place as survival strategies. The beauty of taking our lives to the next level and bringing in energetic and spiritual tools is that we can actually use these modalities to clear the loops we feel ourselves stuck in.
Lis is here looking for answers. She’s grown up with the idea that she was cursed when she was 14, when an event happened that sent her on a downward spiral into depression. We’re all programmed with collective narratives, and one of these that is particularly strong and disempowering for women is about the very old institution of marriage. It’s a system that was once created as a means to sell women as property, and although it has evolved to mean something very different in modern society, I believe there is still a lot of subconscious wounding there to work through, especially if you are brave enough to challenge those norms and go through a divorce. There are so many stories that tell women that they must fear being alone, particularly in old age, that sit within us as we process whatever pain we’re experiencing from the ending of a long relationship such as a marriage.
Conny is here feeling like she’s “lost her mojo.” She’s not originally from the US, but has lived here for over 20 years. A few years ago, her husband left her for another woman, and she’s still struggling with that pain. Today, Conny and I have a beautiful conversation about what we can uncover when we are willing to look deep into every part of us, and how to grieve the loss of the future you thought you were going to have after breaking up with a romantic partner.

I have so much fascination for how connected we all are, and how interwoven the parts of our lives are with each other. Sometimes we can see several questions arise in our lives and try to approach finding answers from different means, when they in fact come from the same source. It’s part of our natural inclination as human beings to act in patterns that may show up in many different parts of our life, and the magic lies in us recognizing these patterns and being willing to make changes.
Dexter is here curious about a few different areas of his life. In a society that encourages us to do so much, and to seek external validation from others, we often put the notion of “having confidence” up on a pedestal, along with the values of eternal hard work and doing more and more and more. Yet we are not going to be fulfilled by being confident, but rather by letting ourselves be led by the wisdom of our entire being.
Emily is here wondering what is blocking her from being confident. She’s been feeling overworked and wondering if that work is going to lead her where she wants to go.
